Educational visits form an important part of our curriculum as we firmly believe that children learn best when engaged in first-hand experiences. Visits are organised to comply with relevant guidelines and procedures and are subsidised by the school. We also have a school mini-bus which we use for transport to and from as many of these visits as possible.
Parental permission is always sought before taking children from the school premises for educational visits, however, the school reserves the right to leave behind any child whose behaviour is a danger to himself / herself or others.
When a child joins the school parents/carers will receive a permission form to complete to allow their child to attend local visits throughout the year. Parents will still be notified each time such visits are to take place and will have the opportunity to opt out of their child attending. Any visits that are not classed as local visits will require an individual permission request to be completed.
Charging and remissions information is in line with Barnsley Council guidelines which can be found here Barnsley Charges and Remissions Policy.
