Attendance and holidays

Attendance and holidays

Please inform the school immediately if your child is ill or absent for any reason.

  • Doors open at 8.45
  • Registration takes place at 8:50 and if a child is not present when the register is taken then a late/absent mark will be recorded. If we have not been told by the child’s parent or carer that the child is absent, then we will call the parent/carer to check that the child is safe and well.
  • Attendance and late arrivals to school are carefully monitored by our Attendance Officer and, if necessary, the school’s Education Welfare Officer.

Please note that until further notice, owing to Covid-19 drop off time has been extended to 8:30am-8:55am to support social distancing.  A late mark will be recorded at 9:00am if your child has missed registration.

Requests for absence during term time

Please let the school office know beforehand if your child has a medical or dental appointment during school time. Children are never allowed to leave school without being collected by their parent or carer.

Due to Government amendments to the Education (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2006 in regard to authorisation of term time leave for pupils, Headteachers may not grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances. These amendments came into force on 1 September 2013 and are clearly outlined in the Education (Pupil Registration) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2013.

Please be aware that you could be issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice if the above guidelines are not followed.

We want all our children to be at school on time and in time to make the very most of their learning opportunities!
