Raising a concern
If you have a problem concerning your child, please make an appointment to see the class teacher at the earliest opportunity. Most problems can be dealt with informally by the teacher concerned, and the Head Teacher will normally refer parents to the class teacher as the first port of call. The Assistant Head Teachers and other Senior Leadership Team Members or the School Behaviour and Learning Mentor may become involved if the matter is not easily resolved. Problems will be referred to the Head Teacher when standard procedures have not been effective in resolving the issue.
Parents are welcome to discuss any issues they may have regarding their child. However, as you can appreciate, the start of the school day is a very busy time, and class teachers would welcome discussions at the end of the school day after all children have been dismissed. Messages can be passed to the class teacher via the office.
A formal complaint may be made to the Chair of Governors c/o. Goldthorpe Primary School. Complaints about the curriculum, Religious Education and related matters would be made under Section 123 of the Education Reform Act.
